PATHETIC follows a group of kids in the US Southwest who are trying to survive high school—but their parents’ ugly passions are making it difficult. PATHETIC mashes up a contemporary idiom with newly translated sections of Racine’s tragedy, challenging us to identify with excessive emotion, and confronting the violence that faces female sexuality on both sides of the generational divide.
